I thought it would be a good idea to see the new Cowboy Stadium on the cheap by going to a high school football game there.
The perfect storm came in the form of Allen vs Southlake. Two Texas high school football powerhouses matched up in the early rounds of the state championship playoffs.
The game was tremendous. Too bad it ended in a loss for our home town team, Allen. The team fought hard to tie the game and send it into overtime. After multiple overtime possessions, the Allen coach went for the win by going for a two point conversion instead of forcing another overtime session by kicking an extra point after a touch down. The attempt fell short, and the Allen season was over.
As for the new Cowboy Stadium... one word... HUGE.
